Consisting of Tan Tuncag and Miray Kurtulus, Mira released their follow up album “Ayda Kahvalti” (Breakfast on the Moon) in May of 2012. Debut album “Eve Donmeliyim” (I need to get back home) was released in 2008.
The name “Mira” was taken, not coincidentally, from a dying star. With pure and ethnic melodies, synth lines in synch with the heartbeat and striking lyrics, Istanbul based band Mira takes us on a journey of mysterious roads of their musical being.
In 2008 Mira, released their first single “Bir Gun Gelir” on a compilation album “Istanbul calling” released by Elec-trip Records. Few months later, their debut album “Eve Donmeliyim” was released from the same label. Producing their own videos the band got the attention from the public eye not only for their music but also for their visual expression.
Mira was featured on compilation albums such as: “Babylon Bar”, “Café Istanbul” and “Electro-trip”. Mira also shared the stage with the likes of Pulp, Kimbra and Stereophonics in Open-air festivals like “Efes One Love” and “Masstival”.
In-between being human and not belonging to this world, Mira have told their story, feelings and what they have lived through in an album consisting of ten dreamy and visual songs. Released in May 2012 “Ayda Kahvalti” is a psychedelic journey not to be missed.
