Known for his previous projects such as Mira and the internationally successful indie-electronica duo Portecho, Tan Tuncag embarked on a solo project under the moniker “Cava Grande”. Founded in 2017 in Istanbul, Turkey, Cava Grande can be described as Melancholic Electro / Indie Dance with the touch of fat analog synthesis, warm vocals and bouncy dark beats.

Cava Grande’s debut album “Worm Universe” was released on May 2018 by Santima Records. The two tracks from this album; “Sentinel” and “A Fine Mess” were released in the form of a video game, developed by Tan who is also a professional video game designer and an animator.

The double track single “Ghost / Vessels” was released in March 2019.

During 2018 and 2019, Cava Grande played at some remarkable music festivals such as Mix Festival, Sonar Istanbul, Istanbul Jazz Festival, Music Showcase of Greece festival in Thessaloníki along with playing as the opening act for the Austrian electronica band HVOB, on their “Rocco” album release concert in Istanbul.

The three singles from the second album “A Room Above The Earth”, “The Pond” and “Unveiled” were launched in 2020. The first music video from the album, “A Room Above The Earth” is a sci-fi themed 3D animated film made by Tan that was selected by 5 great international film festivals so far.

Cava Grande’s second album “Hollow Shell” was released in January 2021, followed by “Hollow Shell Remixes” in July 2021.
